Next Generation Ministries

Reaching each new next generation is vital. As Oklahoma Baptists we recognize next generation ministry can be defined as ministry to individuals from birth to 25 years old. Each new next generation needs Jesus, a connection to the body of Christ, and to grow in Christlikeness or spiritual maturity.

This is what we hope to provide to our Oklahoma Baptist pastors, leaders, and churches in a unified effort to continue to advance the Gospel with emerging generations. Oklahoma Baptists invest around 50% of the financial resources provided through the Cooperative Program on next generation ministry, not to mention the vast amount of focus, time, effort, energy, and care. We place a high priority on helping the church reach and develop people spiritually from birth into adulthood.

Next Gen Ministry Areas

The Childhood Ministry office serves Oklahoma Baptist churches and children’s ministries as a resource point for all things related to Children’s Ministry including VBS, Crosstimbers Camp, Bible Drill, children’s missions, discipleship, Sunday School, and more. We also desire to encourage and equip children’s minister’s as they serve the kids and families of their community.

Oklahoma Baptists Youth Ministry and supports churches in disciple-making efforts to reach and disciple teenagers through training, resources, and events including Falls Creek Youth Camp, The Call Conference, OKYM Forum, girls ministry, Sunday school, small groups, GO Students missions, and more. The youth ministry office also serves, develops, and connects leaders each year through the Oklahoma Youth Ministry Network.

Oklahoma Baptists’ Collegiate Ministries leads campus-based college ministries across Oklahoma and collaborates with church-based college ministries statewide. Our mission is to guide students in their spiritual journey with Christ by offering gospel encounters, discipleship, evangelism training, missions, and leadership development.

The Young Adult Ministry of Oklahoma Baptists supports churches in enhancing the effectiveness of ministry to young adults (generally those 18 to 25 years old or those in their 20s and 30s) through small groups and young adult ministry to reach, retain, and equip young people for service.
