This is a training event for new volunteers and returning volunteers needing to update their Disaster Relief badges. Disaster Relief badges are valid for a period of three years from the training date. Training classes, as well as hands on work will be offered. This event is open to all DR volunteers from Oklahoma. This will be a time to celebrate, encourage and train our volunteers. The cost is $10.00. A light breakfast and buffet lunch will be provided, along with special speakers, breakout sessions, awards and giveaways. Non-DR spouses are also invited. The event will be held at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. The deadline to register is Sunday, November 10th. You can register online at: www.okdisasterhelp.org/dr-roundtable.
Chaplain Manual/OSFA will be offered March 6-8, 2025, from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. daily. The class fee for all three days is $60.00. The instructor is Dr. Naomi Paget. The training will be offered at the NEW office location of Oklahoma Baptists, 300 Johnny Bench Dr., Ste. 300, OKC, OK 73104. To register, please email pjones@oklahomabaptists.org. Course materials, drinks and snacks will be provided. Lunch will be provided on Saturday. Parking is limited next to the building on the East side, but there are other areas close by for parking. Please register no later than February 28, 2025.
Critical Incident Stress Management training (CISM) will be offered April 3-4, 2025. The instructor will be Greg Giltner. Classes will be held at the NEW Oklahoma Baptists officed, located at 300 Johnny Bench Dr., Ste. 300, Oklahoma City, OK 73104. Space is limited to the first 35 people. The training will be held on October 11, from 8:30-2:30, at First Baptist Church, 825 W. Rogers Blvd., Skiatook, OK. The cost for new volunteers is $30.00 and for returning volunteers is $20.00.
