Throughout her life, she has faithfully served her church, district, and state through various ministries, including teaching, evangelism, missions, speaking, mentoring, and prayer.
She was recently elected to serve as the Oklahoma Baptist State Woman’s Auxiliary President.
As the Founder and CEO of JJ Bailey Ministries, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, she has hosted three successful Widow Warrior Empowerment Conferences, welcoming widows from Texas, Arkansas, and across Oklahoma. Her book is scheduled to be published prior to the 2026 conference.

Simply put, she is a servant of the Most High God.
Barbara Hooks
Barbara Hooks is a devoted member of Bryant Avenue Baptist Church, where she serves faithfully wherever the Lord opens the door. Though she does not currently hold an official position, she has a long history of ministry involvement, including serving as Women’s Leader, teaching Sunday School for women and children, leading Children’s Church and Wednesday night children’s programs, and participating in the church choir.
Professionally, Barbara dedicated more than 25 years to the nursing field, beginning her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant before becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse and later a Registered Nurse. Throughout her medical career, one of her greatest passions was patient education, helping individuals understand how to care for themselves with confidence and clarity.
Today, Barbara’s heart is to encourage her sisters in Christ to view their health as an act of worship, caring for their bodies so they may serve God with strength, endurance, and joy.
