Want to Recommit Your Life to Christ?

Sometimes we drift from the Lord to a place where we feel we need to return, to refresh our focus on, reliance on, and walk with the Lord. Congratulations on your decision to change the direction of your life and grow deeper in Christ! It may seem difficult to make a major life change, so we have a few encouragements for you. Here are some tips to help you in those moments…

1. Be confident.
Have assurance in your faith. Your walk with the Lord is cooperation with Him as He continues to work.

2. Walk with the Lord and live with conviction and purpose.

    • Cling to Jesus
    • Walk in repentance
    • Spend time with the Lord
      • Establish a consistent time with the Lord. This will help you focus on important disciplines that will help you pursue the Lord and stay faithful.
    • Develop Spiritual Disciplines
      • Read, study, memorize, and seek to understand the Bible.
    • Pray
    • Connect
      • Connect in fellowship/community with other Christians and the local church.
    • Confess
      • Keep asking the Lord to show you areas of your life that don’t match him. Pray and ask forgiveness where you have fallen short of what He desires. Find someone trusted to tell what your are dealing or struggling with who can help encourage you and keep you accountable.
    • Accountability
      • Share what God is doing in you and your decision you just made with the leaders in your Church, a trusted friend, and your home church this as soon as you can. They will be thrilled to help you in this great journey and help you grow.

3. Seek helps.

Check out the Devo to End All Devos (hyperlink to the resource page) and spend about 10-15 minutes each day getting started reading, studying, and understanding the Bible.

God bless you in your renewed commitment to following Christ on a daily basis. Jesus said, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

Baptized?
Sometimes people can feel distant from the Lord and that they need to recommit themselves to the Lord because they haven’t been baptized. Maybe you have come to faith and haven’t been baptized yet, or maybe you were baptized and then saved, and need to get your baptism on the right side of salvation. Check out the baptism information at the top of the page to find out more and to see the importance of following through on this first of step of obedience through baptism.
