We love to sing, play, and worship the Lord, and, we would love to have you consider singing or playing with us. Each season the ministry groups of Oklahoma Baptist Worship reach out across Oklahoma as we advance the Gospel story and offer a word of hope and encouragement to the church and to all people.
The concert season for all groups begins in the late summer/fall and continues through April or May. The groups do not meet during December or during the summer months.
The SCM is open to all Ministers of Music and Worship Leaders (full time/part time) and key worship leaders in the local church.
The SCW group is an auditioned group. All members should be an active member in a Southern Baptist Church
The OBS is an auditioned group. You will love being in this wonderful group. All members should be an active member in a Southern Baptist Church.
The OBCC is open to all 4-7 graders. Let the fun begin! This is a training group but an audition is required.
OSWC is for all 8-12 graders. Students and music go together! This group is an auditioned group that needs singers as well as worship band and tech members.
SINGING CHURCHMEN OF OKLAHOMA
Who we are:
The Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma is a group of men that love God and are passionate about serving him through the ministry of the Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma. Men in the Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma have a rich heritage and history of over 60 years of ministry, but are still centered and focused on ministry across generations and responding to the call, “wherever He leads, I’ll go.” This calling has taken the SCM across the state of Oklahoma, to many places in the United States and on several international mission trips.
Who is eligible and requirements:
- Full time or bi-vocational (paid or unpaid) Worship Pastors in a Southern Baptist Church
- Full time or bi-vocational Senior Pastor, Director of Missions, or hold another ministry position on staff at a Southern Baptist Church
- “Key leaders” in their local church. Key Leaders are men that have vocal skills, are faithful in the Worship/Music ministry of their church, and are recommended by their Senior Pastor or Worship Pastor
- Music Majors or Minor at a university; be a high school junior/senior that is sponsored by a current Singing Churchmen.
- Be committed to attending each Singing Churchmen event and a full participant in the group
- Attend the SCM retreat in September and Singing Churchmen events.
Cost:
$60 per season and one-time purchase of concert attire.

There are no auditions for those that meet the above requirements.

SINGING CHURCHWOMEN OF OKLAHOMA
Who we are:
From all walks of life, ladies from across the state of Oklahoma have joined their voices, instruments, and their hearts to become the Singing ChurchWomen of Oklahoma! The Singing ChurchWomen – over 300 in all – serve in churches, schools, universities, communities, and more as they use every opportunity to advance the Gospel both in their lives and as members of the Singing ChurchWomen of Oklahoma.
Who is eligible and requirements:
The Singing ChurchWomen of Oklahoma is an auditioned group. We are looking for vocalists, instrumentalists, and tech crew members.
All Singing ChurchWomen of Oklahoma should:
- Be an active member of a Southern Baptist Church in Oklahoma.
- Have an audition with the director, SCW team member, submitting an audition online, or at one of our concerts
- The audition consists of vocalizing for range, singing a familiar song such as Amazing Grace or a song that you chose, sharing your Christian Testimony
- To audition online:
- Download the audition form here
- Vocalize – record your comfortable singing range using a 5-note ascending and descending scale
- Sing Amazing Grace or My Country ‘Tis of Thee – 1 or 2 verses, a Capela
- Sing any solo of your choosing – submit cd’s or mp3’s only. Feel free to use your phone to record.
- Send completed form and files to: rlind@oklahomabaptists.org
- If accepted, each Singing ChurchWomen must attend the 2-day retreat in the fall or a 1 day retreat if there is a calendar conflict with the 2 day retreat. Retreat for 2023-24 season is September 8-9, 2023.
- Be actively engaged in Worship/Music leadership in church.
Note: If there is not an opportunity to serve in your church, just please let us know.
This will not exclude you from being in the group.

OKLAHOMA BAPTIST SYMPHONY
Who we are:
Members of the Oklahoma Baptist Symphony come from all walks of life, but have at least one thing in common: they love to play their instruments to the glory of God. Each member of the Oklahoma Baptist Symphony must be proficient in their instrument and be willing to be a faithful member and plan on attending each concert event. This is very important for the “ensemble sound” of the symphony.

- Be able to demonstrate proficiency on your instrument
- Attend retreat and other Oklahoma Baptist Symphony events.
- Be committed to attending each Oklahoma Baptist Symphony event
- The Oklahoma Baptist Symphony is open to all adults, upper-level high school students, and university students

OKLAHOMA BAPTIST CHILDREN’S CHORUS
Who we are:
Music is a huge part of the life of many children and that’s true of our OBCC students. The Oklahoma Baptist Children’s Chorus is an auditioned choir of 4th-7th graders who love to sing praise to the Father, and want to continue to grow spiritually and musically.
They will begin their 11th season in August with a retreat on August 26th.
Who is eligible and requirements:
- All 4-7th graders and friends
- An audition is required to determine voice part and to get to know each student on a personal level. All auditions involve the student singing a familiar song and vocalizing. We love to meet your children!
- Audition information: Auditions may be done in person or during the summer at Cross Timbers children’s camp.
- Schedule: The OBCC meets twice a month on Saturdays at Southern Hills Baptist Church, 8601 S Pennsylvania, OKC for rehearsals. Concerts are on Sunday during to school year – no concerts during summer or in December.
Cost:
$40 for new members. (Returning members pay a lesser fee.)
This includes a concert shirt, retreat, OBCC t-shirt and music.

OKLAHOMA STUDENT WORSHIP CHOIR
Who we are:
Music shapes our lives and our beliefs in God. The Oklahoma Student Worship Choir is an opportunity to grow in our faith, and to express our passion and love for Christ and others. From all across Oklahoma, the OSWC connects students as they join together for musical and spiritual growth and training, and to express their faith as they lead worship.
Who is eligible and requirements:
- All students grades 8-12
- Singers, worship band members, technical team
- Have sincere desire to advance the Gospel through music and the arts
- Attend a 1-day retreat in the Fall and attend OSWC events
- Schedule: Concerts are 1 per month (during school season), no concerts in December
Cost:
$50 per season (includes concert shirt, retreat, music)

- Each student for the OSWC is auditioned the first year. The audition isn’t scary or hard, but it helps us get to know you, and to place your voice/instrument in the best place for the group. See audition information below.
