About Philippines
The Philippines is made up of more than 7,100 different islands and over 120 different languages are spoken here including English. Metro Manila is home to nearly 15 million people yet is only 239 square miles (that’s around 1/3 the size of OKC). Because of poverty and typhoons, which hit the Philippines 20 times a year, the destitution of the Manila is extreme. This team will bring needed physical, emotional, and spiritual support to the both people in need and the local ministry workers.

Who will we serve?
There are an estimated 250,000 children living on the streets in the Philippines most will never go to school. Most of these children are exposed to drugs and sexual abuse at a young age and grow up to have families who also cannot break the cycle of poverty. In order to care for these children and their families, Sarah Jones founded Portion, a program which provides food, clothing, medical supplies, and shares the Gospel. What will we do?
-Bring needed supplies to be distributed throughout the year
– Encourage, evangelize, and disciple the families in Portion
– Support and encourage local Portion ministry staff
– Connect people to local churches
– Work with local churches on outreach events like men’s ministry, basketball ministry, Church planting, VBS, etc
– Support the local church and Portion program with current needs
– Enjoy a day of Snorkeling and Island hopping with the Portion team and staff
How to pray:
– Pray that God would bring clarity if you are supposed to be on this team
– Pray that God would protect the Philippines from devastating typhoons
– Pray that the kids and parents in the Portion program would not only receive food and supplies but a new life that comes in Christ
